See ya later, July - hello, August! A busy, busy week ahead in Duluth full of music, trains, and bike trails!

Happy Wednesday, friends! August is right around the corner – quite literally, it’s tomorrow! Eek! We have a jam-packed week of music, trains, biking, and mostly, a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at what you can find in Duluth this week:

It’s the final Wednesday of July and that means one last Concerts on the Pier at Glensheen! They are really doing it up this week – adding even more music! Gates open at 4pm, Rick McLean plays at 5pm, Big Wave Dave and the Ripples hit the pier at 6pm, followed by The 4onthefloor at 7pm. Remember, this is a FREE event and is popular – get their early and walk, bike, kayak or boat if you can!

Thursday, August 1, there will be a “crazy game of poker” at Bayfront Festival ParkO.A.R is bringing “The Mighty” tour to Duluth, along with American Authors and Rozzi. Gates open at 5pm with music beginning at 6pm. Get tickets here.  

More music Thursday – this time in the HART district of downtown Duluth! The Greater Downtown Council kicks off their August series, “Music in the HART” with Breanne Marie & the Front Porch Sinners. All concerts are held at Gitchi-ode’ Akiing, formerly known as Lake Place Park. Music runs from 4:30-6:30pm - FREE and family-friendly!

The community of West Duluth is getting together for the 40th annual Spirit Valley Days! Events run Thursday-Saturday and include a parade, car show, street vendors, activities for kids, sidewalk sales, and A pancake breakfast. Get the full schedule, here.

Friday night in Leif Erikson Park, it’s Movies in the Park! Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is this week’s film and begins at 8:45pm. This event is put on by the Greater Downtown Council and is FREE!

Two days of fellowship at Bayfront Festival Park begins Friday – it’s City on the Hill Music Festival! Some big names in Christian music will take the stage, including Skillet, Danny Gokey, Big Daddy Weave, and Bethel Music. Ticket information.

Thomas and Percy are back for another weekend at the North Shore Scenic Railroad! Day Out With Thomas takes over the Depot Friday-Sunday. Be sure to book your tickets online ahead of time. Learn more.

And also, Friday-Sunday, head to Spirit Mountain for the Kraus-Anderson Bike Duluth Festival. This is a bike event celebrating the world-class bike trails in Duluth. You can sign up for races, check out the expo village, see demos, and there is plenty of fun for kids, too. Check their website for all the details.
