September 25, 2019: Find It In Duluth!

It's now officially fall and Duluth has all kinds of ways to celebrate the new season this weekend!

Happy Wednesday! It’s officially fall and up on the hill, the leaves are really starting to change. You’ll find a bit of color throughout the city, but we are only at about 50% peak – you can check the Minnesota DNR’s Color Map, here. It’s a great resource! We have plenty of fall fun ahead this week – here’s a look at what you can find:

Head to Duluth Pack on Thursday, September 26 from 6:30-8:30pm for their 2nd Annual Flannel Fest! They are teaming up with Hoops Brewing to offer beer tastings, plus they’ll have raffles provided by Filson, 50% off clearance items, and more deals! Get the latest on their Facebook Event.

Friday through Sunday, the Lake Superior 20/20 Studio and Art Tour will attract art enthusiasts to the North Shore. Tour artists’ studios meet dozens of artists, and purchase art at each location. Check out their Facebook Page to see how to get in on the action.

Saturday, September 28 is the 21st Annual Lester River Rendezvous at Lester Park. From 10am-5pm, the park is turned into a Voyageur Village with arts and crafts, live music, festival foods, and kid’s activities. Parking will be congested at the park, so please take advantage of the free train shuttle, courtesy the North Shore Scenic Railroad. The train will run continuously from 10am to 5pm with stops at 26th Ave East and London Road, 46th Ave East and Superior Street, and 61st Ave East and Superior Street – which is the event location at Lester Park. Follow their Facebook Page for updates.

The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon season kicks off this Saturday with one of their biggest fundraisers – the Beer and Bacon Bash! This is a family-friendly, beer, bacon, and Bloody Mary tasting with vendors, live music, raffles, auctions, games, human foosball, and sled dogs! The event is held at the Proctor Fairgrounds from 3-7pm. Get tickets, here.

Also, Saturday, September 28 is The Boat Club Restaurant and Bar’s annual Oktoberfest celebration. From 11am-7pm, you’ll find all kinds of Oktoberfest fun in the Fitger’s Courtyard – German food, beverages, live music, wiener dog races, beer hall bingo, a yodeling contest, and a costume contest. Check out their website for a schedule of events.

And here’s some additional fall fun that kicks off October 1 – the Great Glensheen Pumpkin Hunt! Through October 31 there will be 9 pumpkins hidden throughout the mansion and estate. Find them all while touring the mansion and there is a fun prize at the end! Details, here.

Head to our Fall Colors and Events page for more fall and Halloween events coming up. As always, we hope to see you soon!

Happy Adventuring!
