Happy Tuesday! This week's blog is going up a day early because Wednesday is Independence Day and I'll be celebrating with my friends and family - hope you are, too! The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and Duluth certainly knows how to celebrate. Before I get to the details on this year's Fourth Fest - let's head to Spirit Mountain, where they will be open ALL WEEK for fun at their Adventure Park and on their mountain biking trails!

Primarily open on weekends for the month of June, the Adventure Park and trails will now be open more days of the week. This week – July 1-8, the park and trails will be open every single day for the holiday. Then, from July 9-September 3, they will settle into their summer operating hours. You’ll be able to check out the timber twister, zip line, jumping pillow, mini golf and disc golf at the Adventure Park every day but Tuesday, when it is closed. And the world class mountain biking trails will be open Thursday through Sunday each week. Of course, weather always plays a factor in hours, so be sure to check the Mountain Message on their website before you go.

And, my goodness folks, it is a busy week at Bayfront Festival Park! It all starts tonight with Rock the Park with Hairball! Doors open at 5pm, with the music beginning at 5:30pm. There will be tickets available at the Box Office tonight.

Then Wednesday, July 4, is the city’s annual Fourth Fest celebration! You’ll find the Mighty Thomas Carnival next door in the DECC parking lot and at Bayfront – dozens of food and craft vendors and live entertainment throughout the day. Gates open at 4pm and admission is free. Savannah Conley is the headliner at 8:45pm. Stick around for the annual fireworks show at 10:10pm. The weather is looking a bit iffy at the moment for the fireworks, we'll keep you posted as to if the city decides to postpone the show to July 5. Happy Birthday America!

Onto Friday, July 6 at Bayfront Festival Park – MIX108’s Summer Throwback concert features Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, with special guests Naughty by Nature, Coolio, and Macamillion. The show starts at 6pm and it is RAIN OR SHINE!

The fun week at Bayfront wraps up Saturday with a favorite – Trampled by Turtles! Special guests Bad Bad Hats, Charlie Parr, The Last Revel, Superior Siren, and Teague Alexy Band will also be performing. The music starts at 4:30pm. Again, this show is RAIN OR SHINE. Find more information, including ticket details, on all the events at Bayfront this week at bayfrontfestivalpark.com.

Also, this weekend - Minnesota’s largest airshow returns to the Duluth International Airport! The 2018 Duluth Airshow is Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8. They have a full lineup planned – featuring the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, Julie Clark, the U-S Army Black Daggers, and many, many more. Get your tickets here.

I hope you all have a very happy and a very safe Fourth of July holiday. As always, head to our Event Calendar to find more fun coming up in Duluth. We hope to see you soon!

Happy Adventuring!
