Happy Wednesday! And welcome to the first full week of December. The holiday hustle and bustle is certainly here and let me tell you, Duluth is the place to enjoy the holidays. There is just so much to do! And hey, even Expedia recognizes it – Duluth was just named one of the Best US Places to Spend a White Christmas! But let’s get to it – here’s a look at some of the fun you can find in Duluth this coming week:

Thursday, December 6 is the 14th Annual Veterans Remembrance Dinner, put on by the St. Louis County Historical Society and its Veterans Memorial Hall program. The theme for this year’s dinner is “The Evolution of Armor in the United States Army.” A keynote speaker will explain the development of tanks in the U.S. Army from WWI to the present. The dinner begins at 5pm in the Great Hall at the Depot. Proceeds benefit the Veterans Memorial Hall Program. Get ticket info, here.

Friday, December 7, Lake Superior Brewing is celebrating Firkin Friday with a taproom exclusive – cranberry/spruce tip-infused Kolsch! Every first Friday of the month is Firkin Friday and Brewer Ryan crafts a new small batch to be tapped. Firkin Friday gets underway at 5:30pm.

The Minnesota Ballet performs a holiday favorite this weekend at the DECC Symphony Hall – The Nutcracker! Performances are Friday-Sunday – more information can be found on their website.

At the Miller Hill Mall on Sunday, Caring Santa is making an appearance for families with special needs who would like a more private experience. Mall staff will work to ensure the environment is supportive of those with sensory, physical, and other developmental needs. Register online, here.
