Happy Wednesday and eve of MEA Weekend! If you’re planning on spending your MEA in Duluth, boy, do we have a lot going on! And hey, if you’re not here for MEA, we still have a lot going on! Let’s get right to it – here’s what you can find happening in Duluth this week:

So since most Minnesota kids are off school Thursday & Friday, many events this weekend are geared towards families – but Thursday you’ll find an event at the DECC dedicated to seniors! It’s the 16th annual Duluth Senior Expo and nearly 4,000 attend this event every year to enjoy featured exhibitors, speakers, workshops, live entertainment, and seminars. Every person who attends will also receive a complimentary copy of the 2018-2019 Northland Senior Resource Guide. Tickets are $6 at the door – get the details, here.

All aboard! A favorite fall tradition is back this weekend on the North Shore Scenic Railroad – the Pumpkin Train Express! This is for one weekend only and tickets go quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot. You’ll take the train to a pumpkin patch where you’ll get to pick out the perfect pumpkin. Tickets.

From rail to water, the Vista Fleet is offering their Harvest Dinner Cruise one final time this season on Friday, October 19 at 5:30pm. Enjoy a fall-themed dinner by Bellisio’s while cruising the harbor. Tickets are $49.95. You can find more information on their website.

Looking to get your run on this weekend? The Wild Duluth Races take over the Superior Hiking Trail this Saturday and include a 100K, 50K, and Half Marathon, though the Half race is full. The long races are nearly entirely on the Superior Hiking Trail – offering rugged terrain and fantastic views. Registration closes Friday, October 19, there is no race day registration. Details here.

Also on Saturday is the encore of Boo at the Zoo at Lake Superior Zoo! From 10am-4pm, the zoo will become a trick-or-treating paradise for your little ones, complete with games, activities, and zoo animals. Ticket info can be found online.

Spirit Mountain is celebrating MEA Weekend with one final weekend for the Bike Park & Adventure Park! They have extended hours Thursday-Sunday. Check it out, here.

Glensheen is also extending their hours for MEA Weekend. Thursday-Saturday the estate will be open until 10pm. Be sure to purchase tickets ahead of time at glensheen.org.

And on Sunday, October 21, Planet 3 Extreme Air Park in Duluth is hosting a sensory friendly event – meaning quieter music, dimmer lights, and limited whistles. More info on their Facebook Page.

WHEW! And of course, there is much more going on in Duluth this week, which you can find on our Event Calendar. We hope to see you soon!

Happy Adventuring!
