Happy Wednesday! And it is a snowy Wednesday! The ski hills are making snow and area lakes are making ice – winter lovers are happy! It’s certainly starting to feel festive around town, and you’ll have several chances to get in the holiday spirit this week. Here’s a look at some of the fun you can find in Duluth this week:
The Lake Superior Zoo’s fall fundraiser is Thursday, November 14, offering an evening of wine and beer tasting, great food, live music, and raffles. Uncorked & Tapped for Conversation raises funds for the care of the over 400 animals who call the zoo home. Tickets can be purchased, here.
Friday, November 15 is the kick-off of Christmas Tours at Glensheen! Elves have been busy decorating the Congdon mansion the past two weeks and now you can enjoy all their hard work. Find the 25 Christmas trees decorated throughout the home! Learn more at glensheen.org.
Friday night, head over to Bent Paddle for the Bentleyville Beer release party and fundraiser! Bent Paddle is launching the Christmas Cookie Cream Ale in honor of Bentleyville. The release party is from 5-10pm and also includes live music. More information can be found on the Facebook Event.
Another fundraiser Friday night will get you excited to hit the slopes at Chester Bowl! Their Skis, Suds, & Slices event runs from 6-9pm at Clyde Iron Works and raises funds for the Chester Bowl’s Scholarship Fund. Enjoy wine, beer, pizza, and a silent auction. Buy your ticket and learn more here.
Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17 you’ll find a favorite annual tradition at the DECC – the Junior League of Duluth’s Festival of Trees! This massive holiday craft show will help you decorate your home this season and also cross off some of the names on your gift list. Save $1 on admission with a food donation to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. Hours and more information can be found on the Junior League’s website.
And planning a wedding? All couples are welcome to checkout the Greysolon Wedding Open House on Sunday, November 17 to tour the space, meet vendors, and learn more about planning your upcoming nuptials. This open house is FREE, but they’d appreciate if you register. Details, here.
