Another Wednesday is here and Duluth has another busy week of events. This week in particular includes a ton of great shopping! Here's a look at what you can find happening in Duluth this week.
Thousands are expected to visit Superior Street this week for the Sidewalk Days Festival, put on by the Great Downtown Council. The boundaries are slightly condensed this year due to Superior Street Reconstruction, but that doesn’t mean they are short on fun! Enjoy great good and great shopping Wednesday, July 11 through Friday, July 13 from 3rd Avenue West to Lake Avenue. More than 80 vendors will join the downtown merchants to take to the street. And tonight (Wednesday) is the Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic Car Show, which also includes 6 blocks of live music! The festival doesn’t entirely wrap up Friday – you can still hit the street for a little dancing with the First Street Dance Friday night, and the Superior Street Dance on Saturday. You can find a full schedule of Sidewalk Days events here.
Beyond downtown – the sales continue! At Fitger’s Complex you’ll find deals in every corner starting today, Wednesday, July 11 and all through the weekend! Plus, the Miller Hill Mall will host their sidewalk sales Friday through Sunday, as well. They’ll have specials throughout the mall.
From deals and sales to free movies! Friday night the Greater Downtown Council brings back Movies in the Park. Grab a blanket or a chair and enjoy a night under the stars at Leif Erikson Park. This year’s theme is People’s Choice and they kick off the summer season this Friday with Dirty Dancing at 9:05pm. You can see a full lineup of this year’s movies at downtownduluth.com.
Saturday, July 14 head to Bayfront Festival Park for the second annual Taste of Duluth! Live music and entertainment, local vendors, plus lots of food and craft beer from 11am -7pm. Admission is free!
And, also this weekend, we celebrate our great lake – Lake Superior! It’s Lake Superior Days and you’ll be able to celebrate and learn more about the lake all weekend. Friday and Saturday you’ll find exhibit stations and activities from 10am-4pm at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center. On Friday, the Duluth Experience will even host a fun trivia challenge to test your knowledge of Lake Superior, and on Saturday you can also head to Park Point for self-guided tours. You can find more about the celebration planned on Park Point on the Community Club website. Finally on Sunday, head to Barkers Island in Superior for free, family activities and live music from 11am-3pm! Lake Superior Days is free and open to the public.
That’s it for this week! Don’t forget you can always head online to visitduluth.com/events to find more fun coming up in Duluth. We hope to see you soon!
