Happy Wednesday, everybody! Can you believe we are nearly through August?! Not to worry though, the weather is beautiful and we have plenty of fun going on in Duluth the rest of the month. Here’s what you can find happening in Duluth this week:
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week, it’s the 10th Anniversary of The Tribute Fest at Bayfront Festival Park! Thursday is Country tribute night and Friday and Saturday will feature two days of Rock 'n' Roll. The Tribute Fest was set up to raise awareness and funds for homeless veterans in the state of Minnesota. So you can rock out while helping our local vets! Head to thetributefest.com for ticket information and learn more about MACV's mission, here.
Just two more Fridays of Movies in the Park thanks to the Greater Downtown Council! This Friday, August 24, catch "La La Land" at Leif Erikson Park and next Friday, August 31 – the season finale is "Despicable Me 3." Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with a free movie under the stars. Don’t forget your lawn chair or blanket!
Friday and Saturday, an annual favorite takes over Barkers Island across the bridge in Superior. It’s the Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival! Watch the races, feast on fantastic food, enjoy live music, or peruse the craft fair. The fun starts Friday, including fireworks that night and the racing kicks off Saturday. More information about the schedule can be found on their website.
Also on Saturday, August 25 - Princesses on a boat! Come get lost at sea with Elsa, Anna, The Little Mermaid and your other favorites on the Vista Fleet for their Princess Adventure Cruise! Dress-up is strongly encouraged, and you’ll want to be sure to get tickets while you still can. Boarding for the cruise begins at 9:30am. Get tickets at vistafleet.com.
And with Labor Day Weekend around the corner, that means Duluth-Superior Pride is also coming up! We’ll have all those details in next week’s video. As always, we hope to see you soon!
