Tuesday, February 2, 2010 marks another potentially prickly Groundhog Day at the Lake Superior Zoo! Who do you think will wander out to look for their shadow? On Tuesday at 10:00am we will be watching for our prairie dogs as well as our porcupine, Spike to emerge into the frost morning air. As our prairie dogs and porcupines are neighbors, they may decide to emerge together to forecast the coming weather as a team!If any of the animals see their shadow there will still be six long weeks of winter to endure; however, if they don’t see their shadows we will be enjoying an early spring! You just never know what Spike and his prairie dog neighbors will discover about our coming weather!
