Visit Duluth presents Minnesota's largest
FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA!
The aerial display begins at 10:10 p.m. July 4th.

Monday, July 4th

A 27 year tradition, the City of Duluth and Visit Duluth will once again host the FourthFest Celebration at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth on Monday, July 4, 2011. Duluthians and visitors alike will enjoy this FREE Independence Day community celebration with Minnesota’s largest fireworks display and a special patriotic performance by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra again headlining this year’s festival.

Gates open at 12 noon with food & crafts, and the Mighty Thomas Shows Carnival open for rides, games and family fun. FourthFest has the area’s finest food and craft vendors with everything from brats and hamburgers to Australian battered potatoes, Bar-B-Que, pizza, ice cream, mini-donuts, gyros, Asian cuisine, and much, much more, with beverages from Budwieser, Coca-Cola, and the Fitgers Brewhouse.

The bands start on stage at 12:30PM and play continuously throughout the day till the Fireworks at 10:10PM. This year, Secret Service Entertainment has teamed up with Star Creative and the Fitgers Brewhouse to give the day-long musical program a “Homegrown Duluth” flavor.

8:15 pm - Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra
With it’s full company of 60 musicians performing an Independence Day program in the tradition of the Boston Pops and John Philip Sousa, featuring patriotic tunes, an emotional tribute to veterans who serve our country, and a slam bang finish of the 1812 Overture and the Stars and Stripes Forever.

At 8:10 pm there will be a special F-16 flyover by the 148th Fighter Wing of the
Minnesota Air National Guard.

The fireworks display presented by Visit Duluth, the city's convention and visitor's bureau, begins at 10:10 pm. and will be fully synchronized to a musical program broadcast on NU92 FM (92.1).

Hairball, the number one 80’s Rock-N-Roll Experience Extravaganza, will perform a concert in Duluth at Bayfront Festival Park on Sunday, July 3rd. Hairball recreates the good-time party atmosphere of that decadent decade with complete authenticity, including fabulous costumes, makeup, a tour de force sound and light show complete with pyrotechnics, and superbly accurate musical performances that may set off flashbacks!

Hairball's stunning recreations include KISS, Guns n Roses, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Ozzy, AC/DC, Poison and more!

Joining Hairball as special guests will be Midwest Favorites Arch Allies, What 4, and Junk FM.
