Dark Sky Night at Split Rock Lighthouse

Celebrate the incredible dark skies above Split Rock Lighthouse during Dark Sky Night, presented in partnership with the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium as part of their annual Dark Sky Caravan. Join us on Tuesday, August 11, from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm for an evening of stargazing and exploration. Look through telescopes to observe celestial objects, take part in live guided tours of the night sky, and learn to identify the stars, planets, and constellations visible above Lake Superior. Interested in photographing the night sky? Local photographers will be available throughout the evening to share tips and techniques for capturing the stars above one of Minnesota’s most iconic landmarks. Concerts on the Pier

Join us for our 11th Annual Concerts on the Pier season at Glensheen! This series is the premier Minnesota summer concert experience, featuring Duluth and Minnesota-made artists performing on our pier that juts out into Lake Superior. Concertgoers pack the shoreline and arrive to watch the show via every type of watercraft imaginable or sit along the shoreline. Concerts on the Pier

Plan Now For A Perfect Summer Night at Glensheen Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2026, the Concerts on the Pier series is a FREE event every Wednesday, July – August. Bring a lawn chair or explore the grounds to find the perfect spot to enjoy music by local favorites. Come by car, foot or watercraft – all people and ages are welcome! Food and beverages are available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8 pm.
