On the Road
How do you get here? Well, that depends on where you’re coming from. From eastern Canada, you follow the edge of Lake Superior along the internationally renowned North Shore Drive, otherwise known as Scenic Highway 61, approximately 194 miles southwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. From western Canada, you traverse Highway 53 through the iron-rich Iron Range of northern Minnesota—the iron that built a nation—just 397 miles from Winnipeg, Manitoba. From points south (and much of the world is south of Minnesota) you’ll probably come through the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, 156 miles on Interstate 35; or through Chicago, 465 miles northwest across Wisconsin. But no matter what way you come, it’s a beautiful drive with a breathtaking destination.
In the Air
If you choose to fly, our downtown is just 10 minutes from the Duluth International Airport, serviced by Northwest Airlines and Midwest Airlines.
Around Town
Once you get here, getting around couldn’t be simpler. You’ll find convenient motorcoach parking, complete taxi services, as well as bus transportation provided by the Duluth Transit Authority. In the summer, you can take a leisurely ride on the Port Town Trolley around downtown and Canal Park. A lot of places, however, are just as easy to get to by walking—don’t worry, most everything downtown is linked by a climate-controlled skywalk. And remember, motorcoach parking is always available and always free at all Duluth hotels and motels.
