SPOTLIGHT ON A MEMBER
Lori Steinbach, Travel Information Manager, Visit Duluth

Visit Duluth’s Spotlight on a Member for October is Old Chicago Restaurant. Thank you to Kerri Hoffman, Manager, for answering our questions.

Old Chicago opened in Canal Park in June of 1997. The location was chosen because of the high volume of traffic Canal Park receives.

Old Chicago makes all of their own fresh dough for the pizzas, calzones and sandwiches daily. Along with those menu items, they also feature pasta and chicken dishes, along with steak and shrimp.

If you would like to “tour the world of beer from one bar stool,” you can join the world beer tour which includes 110 of their 120 different beers from around the world. There is no cost become a member, and it doesn’t matter if it takes you two months or eight years to finish all of the variety of beers. Along the way you receive free prizes such as t-shirts, hats and more. So if you like beer, it is definitely worthwhile for you to join.

Old Chicago joined Visit Duluth to be sure their name was out there to bring in customers.

Grandma’s Marathon is always a memorable experience for Old Chicago. They nearly double their sales on race day. They love the crowd and enjoy serving people.

Old Chicago features football every Sunday and on Monday nights on their big screen TVs. And on Tuesday night you can have a night out at the ball park while you watch the Minnesota Twins.

One thing that most Old Chicago customers don’t know is that they have a parking lot around the backside of the restaurant. It’s kind of hidden so you have to drive all the way behind The Suites Hotel in order to find it but that way you don’t have to feed a meter.

Whether you are looking to enjoy a nice family dinner or to sit back, enjoy the game, and have a drink or two, Old Chicago is the place to be!

Thank you, Old Chicago Restaurant for being our spotlight on a member.

“WHAT GROUP TOURS ARE SAYING ABOUT VISIT DULUTH”

"Our visit to Duluth was just outstanding. Thanks for all your assistance in making this a great adventure. The weather was perfect. The people we dealt with were friendly and accommodating.

Dale (tour guide) was great! Good information, a little humor, and some charm----a very good combination. His two stops at Enger Tower and the rose garden were unexpected but absolutely wonderful, especially because of the weather. The tour was one of my favorites of the 2 days.

Our group was very complimentary of the city. And I plan to return with my family very soon.

Thanks for everything!"
