NOTEWORTHY MEMBER NEWS
Congratulations to Lake Superior Magazine on their 30th anniversary! An open house was held on July 16 at the Lake Superior Magazine offices in celebration of this milestone.

Congratulations to the A.G. Thomson House Historic Bed & Breakfast Inn and Solglimt- A Lakeshore Bed & Breakfast on being listed in the top ten bed & breakfasts in the August issue of Minnesota Monthly.

BROCHURE EXCHANGE
The last of our brochure exchanges will be held Thursday, August 6 from 2 pm-4 pm in the Visit Duluth conference room. If you have brochures, we would love to display them. Bring in your brochure and pick up other members’ brochures, as well as the Visitor Guide. We will distribute your brochures to the waterfront information center as well.

Snacks and beverages will be served. Hope to see you all there!

SPOTLIGHT ON A MEMBER

Visit Duluth’s Spotlight on a Member for July is the Electric Fetus. Visit Duluth extends our appreciation to Carrie Brown, for her response.

The Electric Fetus opened in 1968 and came to Duluth in 1987. It chose its location on Superior Street for the visibility near the high traffic intersection.

Electric Fetus does not only carry a large mass of music but also clothes, books, jewelry, and many other gift items available for purchase. In 2004, Electric Fetus went through a building renovation that took 15 months but Carrie is proud of the outcome and being involved in the renovation. She is looking forward to the completion of the construction and renovations.

Electric Fetus has been a part of Visit Duluth for over 18 years. Carrie enjoys being able to network with other business owners and operators through some of Visit Duluth’s organized events.

Carrie’s favorite local event is the annual Bayfront Blues Festival for multiple reasons including the fantastic weather during the middle of August, the national acts with good music, the mass amount of visitors that come to the area, and the fact it is just an all around fun event.
