Happy Wednesday, folks! After a little hiatus (little, as in I had a baby and am back from maternity leave!), we are jumping back in to take a look at some of the fun you can find happening in Duluth this weekend. Spring has arrived and it’s a busy spring weekend. Let’s take a look!
This Friday is the final Friday of the month and that means it’s time once again for a Downtown Duluth Arts Walk! This is a walkable event, open to all, featuring art galleries, artist studios, cultural centers, bars, and performance venues. You can find all the details, plus this month's map on the Downtown Duluth Arts Walk Facebook event. The walk runs from 5-8pm this Friday.
Saturday morning, you’ll see plenty of runners downtown for the 30th annual Fitger's 5K, put on by Grandma’s Marathon and benefiting the Young Athletes Foundation. The new race course heads east for an out and back route featuring London road. Race start is 9am. And for any of you running one of the Grandma’s Marathon weekend races – race weekend is 8 weeks away!
From running to biking! Looking for a new bike? Head to Continental Ski and Bike Saturday and Sunday for their 13th Annual Bike Swap. They turn over 500 bikes a year and all of the proceeds are donated – split evenly between the Head of the Lakes United Way and Animal Allies Humane Society. The swap begins Saturday at 10am – get there early for the for the best pick! Sunday the swap continues 9am to 2. Get all the details on Continental's website, here.
Also Saturday and Sunday – the grand opening of Wild State Cider in the Lincoln Park Craft District. Saturday from 12pm-11pm, they’ll have cidery tours and live music. Sunday, they are celebrating 12pm-8pm with the El Oasis del Norte food truck. The celebration is family friendly and dogs can hang on the patio. Welcome to Lincoln Park, Wild State! Check out their Facebook Page for the latest.
Walking, running, biking, followed up by a new way to quench your thirst - I'd say it's a great weekend ahead in Duluth! Be sure to check out our Events Calendar for more fun you can find happening in Duluth this weekend. We hope to see you soon!
