Happy Thursday! Mid-July is a busy time in Duluth and this weekend has several great events and festivals to check out. Here’s a look at some of the fun you can find in Duluth this week:

Movies in the Park is back for their second Friday of the summer season with Lego Movie 2! Grab your blanket, a few friends and enjoy a night under the stars in Leif Erikson Park. All for FREE! Details.

Friday also kicks off the Festival of Steam at the North Shore Scenic Railroad. The most powerful steam locomotive in the world, Big Boy, will be on display all weekend. Big Boy is 133 feet long and weighs 1.2 million pounds. There will not be any rides on Big Boy, but it will be steamed up and on display. The Lake Superior Railroad Museum’s steam engine will be pulling passenger train rides during the weekend. There is much more planned for the festival - get the latest, here.

Saturday, the 14th annual Bayfront Reggae & World Music Festival returns to Bayfront Festival Park for a full day of great music and food. The festival is a celebration of world music with artists who spread the message of love, hope, and equality for all people. This year’s lineup includes Kymani Marley, Demarco, Kabaka Pyramid, and Olatunji. Get tickets.

And both Saturday and Sunday – look to the sky! The Duluth Airshow will be roaring overhead and on the ground at the Duluth International Airport. Performers include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, B-17 Yankee Lady, and many, many others – including static displays, too. Learn more and buy tickets.

Don’t forget these FREE live music options during the week: Chester Creek Concert Series on Tuesdays throughout the summer and Glensheen’s Concerts on the Pier on Wednesdays throughout July.

Looking ahead? Here are some events still on the calendar this summer:
