Find It In Duluth

November 6, 2019: Find It In Duluth!

We have fallen back an hour and it seems awfully dark at 5pm now, but that doesn't mean things are winding down in Duluth - we are just gearing up for the holiday season!

Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s getting darker earlier these days and the thermometer has taken a bit of a dive – here in Duluth we are gearing up for the holiday season! Bentleyville opens in 17 days and you’ll find plenty of local craft fairs and events going on this month to get going on that shopping list. Let’s take a look at some of the fun you can find in Duluth this week:

Thursday, November 7 the Lincoln Park Farmers Market is taking their market indoors for the Grand Opening of their Winter Market! In addition to the market, they will have live music, and free food at the Duluth Folk School/Dovetail Café. The Winter Market will continue through March on the first and third Thursday of each month, 4-7pm. More info.

Saturday, November 9, head to the Lakeside-Lester Park Community Center for the Nice Girls of the North Second Saturday Marketplace. Local artists and crafters will have all their work on display and for sale – including tons of great gifts for the upcoming holidays! The market is open every second Saturday from 10am-3pm. Check out their Facebook Page for details.

Also, Saturday, experience the Great Lakes Aquarium through touch and sound during a special day for guests with vision loss. From 10am-4pm, the aquarium and the Lighthouse Center for Vision Loss are teaming up for a new tactile tour program. Event activities include large print, braille, and audio exhibit descriptions, tactile stations with staff and volunteers, all touch pools will be open with staff available, and more. RSVP for a discounted rate.

Veterans Day is on Monday and you can take part in honoring this special day thanks to the annual Duluth Veterans Day March and Ceremony. Step off for the march is at 10:10am, typically beginning at the Depot and ending at the DECC, where the ceremony will take place at 11am. All are welcome. Find more information on the Duluth Women of Today Facebook Page.

And any winos out there? Silos Restaurant is showcasing their wine menu with Silos Wine Week! November 11-15, order two entrees and enjoy a free bottle of house wine of half off any other bottle of wine. Details.

For those already in the festive spirit – Glensheen’s Christmas Tours begin November 15, the Christmas City of the North Parade is Friday, November 22, and Bentleyville opens Saturday, November 23.

Be sure to check our Event Calendar for more holiday fun coming up in Duluth – we hope to see you soon!

Happy Adventuring!
