Happy Wednesday! Hopefully you had a great Fourth of July holiday weekend – it was a busy one here in Duluth! And we aren’t slowing down. Here’s a look at some of the fun you can find happening in Duluth this week:

The Greater Downtown Council’s annual Sidewalk Days festival begins today and runs through Friday. This is downtown Duluth’s biggest summer shopping festival – and it includes great food! Superior Street is closed to traffic from Lake Avenue to 5th Avenue West and local shops and food vendors bring their goods to the street. Daily activities start at 9am and the 2019 Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Classic Car Show is TONIGHT, beginning at 4:30pm. Street dances are Friday and Saturday night. Get all the details, here:

This Friday kicks off a favorite Greater Downtown Council summer tradition – Movies in the Park! Free movies on the big screen at Leif Erikson Park play every Friday through August 30. The first movie is How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, beginning at 9:05pm. Bring  friends and a lawn chair! See the schedule.

Also on Friday, Wild State Cider is hosting an outdoor festival called Rock the Dock! Enjoy live music on their loading dock stage, food trucks, and yummy ciders from 2-11pm. This is an event for all ages and there is no cover charge. More info.

And, also ALSO, Friday – Duluth’s semi-pro soccer team, Duluth FC hosts their final home game of the season at Duluth East High School. See the BlueGreens take on La Crosse Aris FC at 7pm. Get tickets in advance, here.

Saturday, head to Bayfront Festival Park for a trip around the world. It’s the 3rd Annual Taste of Duluth and this year they are really focusing on celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the area. You’ll find plenty of food, live music, products and services, crafts, and beer to enjoy throughout the day. Admission is free and the festival runs from 11am-7pm. Visit their website.

Saturday also features a festival for those who love roses. The Lake Superior Rose Society is hosting their Rose Fest at the Rose Garden. From 10am-12pm you can tour the garden, watch demos, and learn to grow better roses. A free and public rose show can be found inside Valentini’s next door from 12pm-3pm. Learn more.

Sunday, the Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative is hosting their annual Meet on the Street event. You’ll find all kinds of family fun in the Lincoln Park neighborhood (1900 & 2000 blocks of W Superior St) from 11am-5pm. And it’s free! Climbing wall, bounce house, arts and crafts, music, food, police officers and firefighters, and much more – it will all be there! Check out their Facebook Event.

And Sunday night – classic rock meets classic country at Bayfront Festival Park. Steve Miller Band is joined by Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives. Gates open at 5pm with music beginning at 6pm. Ticket info.

Another busy summer week in Duluth – be sure to check our Event Calendar for more fun happening this week and all summer long. We hope to see you soon!

Happy Adventuring!
