From hitting the slopes to enjoying some holiday performances, there is a little something for everyone in Duluth this week.

Happy Wednesday! Midway through December and we have a week of holiday activities ahead once again! If you’re still looking for a few gifts or stocking stuffers, may I suggest the Duluth Discount Pass? It includes passes to 8 different attractions and saves you big time! Get the details at But hey, let’s take a look at all the fun you can find in Duluth this week!

TODAY! Spirit Mountain begins their daily operations – ski/snowboard season is here! Be sure to check their Mountain Message before you head out.

TONIGHT! It’s a Wednesday in December after all, and that means they are Wreath Making at Glensheen. Teaming up with Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center, all the materials are gathered at Boulder Lake and proceeds go to the learning center. The event gets underway at 6pm and is capped at the first 50 people, first come, first served. The cost is $20. More info.

Also, TONIGHT! Ice Skating with Santa and Rudolph at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center! This FREE skate party is put on by Duluth Parks and will include holiday music, cookie decorating, holiday crafts, and winter science demonstrations. Bring a donation for the food shelf for a raffle ticket for a prize drawing! Skating gets underway at 6:30pm and runs until 8pm.

Looking for some holiday music? The Arrowhead Chorale will host their holiday concert this weekend called Holiday Traditions: A Scandinavian Christmas. The performance will focus on traditional and contemporary carols from Scandinavia, England, and Ireland. You have two chances to catch the concert at the Depot Great Hall, Friday, December 14 at 7:30pm or Sunday, December 16 at 3pm. Ticket information.

Saturday, December 15, head to the Lake Superior Zoo for Twas the Night Before Zoo-Mas. This special holiday event will feature hot cocoa, selfies with Santa, Mrs. Claus, a candy cane scavenger hunt, and the Grinch! Regular zoo admission applies, get the details, here.

Monday, another chance to get your holiday music fix in! The Lake Superior College Holiday Choir Concert will feature a carol sing-along and music student performances. The concert is at 7pm in the Atrium, is free and open to the public.

And on Tuesday, December 18, Zeitgeist and Renegade Theater Company present A Holiday Spectacular Extravaganza Pageant. This is their second annual holiday variety show and features Renegade Improv, Colder By The Lake, Superior Shorts on the Teatro Stage, Beer & Hymns, and a “heavenly host of others.” Tickets are $5 and the celebration gets started at 7:30pm at Zeitgeist Teatro.
