Word on the Street

Superior Street Reconstruction

Phase III of the Superior Street Reconstruction project will begin on April 6. Signs will be posted throughout the project area on Monday, March 30. Barricades will be in place on the morning of April 6, and traffic will no longer have access to the project site.

Superior Street Reconstruction Project

To follow the guidance of the Governor's Stay at Home Order, the Duluth Skywalk will remain closed until May 4th.  The Northwest Passage to the DECC Ramp will remain open weekdays from 7am-7pm, conditions permitting, to accommodate essential workers.

Current Construction Projects

MNDOT: Twin Ports Interchange Reconstruction Project 2020-2023

The I-35, I-535, Hwy 53 Interchange in Duluth, also known as the Can of Worms, will be under construction beginning Spring 2020. This project will enhance safety by eliminating blind merges and left exits, replace aging infrastructure, and better accommodate freight movements.
