While a few days of fun in Duluth always fits the bill, a great experience on the field or rink comes first. Here is a list of some of Duluth's well-known sports complexes.

Bulldog Park
The UMD baseball team plays its home games at Bulldog Park, which is located adjacent to James S. Malosky Stadium on the eastern edge of campus.. Constucted in 1988, Bulldog Park contains one of the top natural grass playing surfaces in the area and is also used by various local high school and youth baseball teams.

Wade Stadium

  • First constructed in 1941 as a Works Progress Administration project, Wade Stadium has been home to minor league and college baseball in Duluth.
  • In 2015, Wade Stadium went through major renovations which saw a turf field installed to accommodate the facility’s heavy use by the Duluth Huskies, College of St. Scholastica Saints, and various high school baseball teams.

Wheeler Athletic Complex

Duluth features 9 additional baseball facilities.


Duluth and the surrounding area feature 24 different basketball courts and facilities. Some are indoor and others are outdoor. Listed below are some of the available indoor venues:



  • Essentia Health Duluth Heritage Sports Center: Two Rinks
  • Duluth Entertainment Convention Center: Two Rinks
    The new AMSOIL Arena features many modern amenities and fan comforts such as:
    • Expanded concourses with a view to the arena floor from nearly every point in the concourse. While the existing arena concourse averages 14 feet in width, the new concourse averages 18.
    • More concession and restroom space. While the existing arena has 15 women's restroom stalls on the concourse, the new arena has 68 women's restroom stalls.
    • A direct, seamless link to the entire DECC complex at the event level.
    • Private suites and party suites on their own private level.
    • A club lounge for gathering on event and non-event days alike.
    • A University of Minnesota Duluth team store.
    • The arena is designed for flexibility. The event level can accommodate up to 20,000 square feet of event floor space for trade shows and exhibitions; it was also designed to accommodate concerts, family events and much more.
    • The arena is one of the first in the country to achieve sustainable design certification, incorporating a variety of green design elements such as:
      • Use of recycled materials during construction.
      • Use of efficient plumbing and mechanical systems like no other arena in Minnesota.
      • Mitigating storm water runoff.
  • MARS Lakeview Arena

Duluth features 2 additional arenas.


  • James S. Malosky Stadium
    • Located on the Univeristy of Minnesota Duluth Campus and is home to the UMD Bulldogs Football Team
    • Also plays host to the College of St. Scholastica Football Team
  • Ordean Field
    • Home to the Duluth East High School Greyhounds
